Pretty Little Truth Tellers!

January? Where is the snow?
January 11, 2016

Dear Framily,

I hope each of you had an amazing week! It was a good week here in Jersey...still with no snow. I don't know how I feel about having no
snow. I like it, and don't like it at the same time. I wonder if we will have snow this winter.

So here is an update on some people we are teaching:
Paymon: so Monday we went over the Word of Wisdom with him again. He has had a lot of questions and concerns with some parts of it and so we helped work with him to make a plan to stop some things. He said that his parents have been trying to get him to stop for a long time so he committed to stop!! We told him that the strength he needs will come through prayer and scripture study!
We went back over on Saturday and we could tell immediately something was off. He had given into some peer pressure and he felt really bad about it. We told him that when we make commitments to draw closer to God, the other side works a lot harder to get us to mess up. We taught him the gospel of Jesus Christ and focused a lot on repentance and how to do it. In the middle of the lesson he asked if he could just pray right now for forgiveness. So he said a prayer with us and he confesses for everything. He was so sincere and genuine in the prayer.
I teared up a bit and after the prayer we said that he felt a lot better. We told him that through Christ we can experience joy and peace through repentance and our guilt can be completely taken away. He is really excited for his baptism on the 23rd and he is excited to invite his family to come as well! He wasn't able to come to church. He has been having a really hard time sleeping and we didn't sleep at all the night before :(.

Gina: so Friday night Sarah was with us and we wrote our testimonies in a Book of Mormon wrapped it up like a present and put it in her mailbox! We told her that we had left something for her and later that night we got a text from her! She said that she was hoping it was the Book of Mormon and that she can't wait to read it! We have been having a hard time getting over to teach her again, but we have a lesson on Wednesday!

Pamela: she came back from her working trip and was at church!! She had a really nice time and we have a lesson with her on Tuesday! At church we gave her a Portuguese Book of Mormon and she was so excited. She said, "Where did you find this?" She was really surprised

Kathy and Andrew: we knocked in their door our first couple of weeks in Caldwell and we have tried setting times to teach them, but they
have been so hard to pin down. We stopped by their house and they were home and invited us in. We taught them the restoration and it was very interesting. Kathy use to be Catholic, but both of them are just spiritual now. They were really willing to read and pray about the Book of Mormon and know if this is all true! They have incredible Christ like attributes!

Well that is about all I have to catch you up on! The work in our area has been booming and we are finding a lot of people! I am so grateful for the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ and that with it we are able to receive all the blessings that God is just waiting to give us. Sister Goulding and I are focusing on centering our thoughts on Christ more fully throughout the day and we know that the more we center our lives the happier and he more peace we experience!

I love each of you and hope that you are baring the cold with warm hearts. Right now I am in the last ten pages if the Book of Mormon and my heart has been so saddened by how hard people's hearts can become when they close themselves off from God. A lot of us don't even realize how much we do it. Hearken unto the voice of the lord and seek him out. As you seek his counsel and give away your sins, the things keeping you from progressing, you will always know where you stand with God. I also learned this week that a couple years after Joseph smith saw God and Jesus Christ he was actually repenting and asking God where he stood in his eyes when the angel Moroni came to him and instructed him to translate the Book of Mormon. It was a real testimony to me of the power of repentance. The second we are willing to change God can help us and more importantly can also use us as his instruments.

I miss and love you all!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Cake!

January 4, 2016

Dear Framily,

Well to be honest with you I don't really have much to say today
because my brain is totally dead ha-ha, but I will update you on some
people! Oh and I hope everyone had a good time on New Year’s! Everyone
here did very worldly things and we went to bed and made a cake the
next day!

Okay dokey 😜

Paymon: so Tuesday we had a lesson at the Church with him and brother
Domine!! It was incredible! We talked a lot about the spirit and he
said that at church he felt really peaceful and he doesn't know if he
just felt that way because we promised him he would, or if he truly
felt it! We told him that it was the spirit telling him it is Christ's
church! The rest of the lesson was all on the Plan of Salvation!! He
had so many questions and he said that this would bring so much
purpose to life!! At the end of the lesson his mom came in to pick him
up and joined us for the closing prayer that he said! We invited him
to read and pray every day and to sandwich the study with prayer! That
night we texted him to remind him to read the next day he texts
back and says, "I prayed before and after the passage and to be
completely honest I felt a sense of peace afterwards. It's strange for
me because I never thought just reading a passage could have such an
emotional effect on me but it does. I think I want to get baptized
because the passage did mention that. I'm still new to this whole
thing, but I can't deny that there is truth in it." We got that text
and I was happy dancing for hours!!  Sister Goulding even started
videoing me because I was so excited! Paymon has been reading and
praying every night and it has made such a huge difference in him! He
actually has light in his eyes now, which was absent the first couple
times we taught him!
Saturday we went to him house to teach him and we met his dad! His
parent were so appreciative that we were meeting with him. They didn't
want to join the lesson, but it was really cool to see them so happy
about it! We taught Paymon about the work of wisdom because he had
some concerns! So we worked through it with him and he has committed
to live it!! Pray for him! He also came to church in Sunday and
Brother Perez took him under his wing and bore his testimony to him!!
It was incredible!

Gina: so we weren't able to have a lesson with Gina, but we have been
in contact with her! We asked her how it went reading the restoration
pamphlet and she said that she really loved it especially the part
when it talks about all the truth being lost and the need for a
restoration! She is so excited for our appointment on Saturday! The
only problem is that her family is being a bit resistant and she is
worried about it! So pray that her family's hearts with be softened!

We found a lot of new investigators this week and we are trying to
help others progress and move forward! We have people to teach and we
are starting to get really busy! I love being a missionary and I can't
imagine a life of anything else but this! This week I was reading in 3
Nephi 19: 9 that talks about the people's desires after Christ had
come and taught them, "And they did pray for that which they most
desired; and they desired that the Holy Ghost should be given unto
them." This New Year this should be our top desire! Shape your goals
around trying to feel the spirit and have it constantly! The promised
blessing is found in 4 Nephi, "15 and it came to pass that there was
no contention in the land, because of the love of God which did dwell
in the hearts of the people. 16 And there were no envyings, nor
strifes, nor tumults, nor whoredoms, nor lyings, nor murders, nor any
manner of lasciviousness; and surely there could not be a happier
people among all the people who had been created by the hand of God.
17 There were no robbers, nor murderers, neither were there Lamanites,
nor any manner of -ites; but they were in one, the children of Christ,
and heirs to the kingdom of God. 18 And how blessed were they! For the
Lord did bless them in all their doings; yea, even they were blessed
and prospered" sounds pretty amazing right? So let's do it!
I love each and every one of you! Miss you like crazy too!

Sign Me Up!

December 28, 2015

Dear Framily,

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope that each of you were able
to take time to think of our savior this Christmas and make commitments to follow him more closely! I also hope that you take time
to think of the highlights from this year and all your improvements!
This year has been an amazing one and it was a full year being a representative of Jesus Christ. Over the span of our lives many things change, but one thing that will never change is Jesus Christ! Hold on
to him the rock of our foundation, "remember, remember that it is upon
the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall." -Helaman 5:12

Okay so today I would like to talk about two people :)

Paymon: on the 23rd which was Sister Goulding's Birthday she prayed to be able to find someone that day to teach. It was pouring rain and we were going door to door. We decided to go and knock in the town of Pinebrook because there are barely any potentials there. So we drove to one of the potentials and pulled out the GPS and started praying about which street to go to. We felt prompted to one street and then prayed about where on the street we should go. We felt like we should head to the very end of the street. We started knocking the doors and we were having no luck. Our time in that area was running short so we were going to end with the last house. We knocked it and a young man in his 20's came to the door! His name is Paymon! His background is Asian and Persian (I thought he looked kind of Filipino). We showed him the Christmas video and asked him what he thought about while he
watched it. He said, "I wonder if Jesus really did have magical powers." We told him that yes he did have something kind of like magical powers, but it is the power of God called the priesthood that he had. He then said that he would really like to know if Jesus was real. So we started talking to him about prayer and that what we do is we teach people about Christs restored gospel and help them receive answers through prayer. We asked him if we could teach him more and help him get answers and he said yes do you want to come in now? So we went inside (his mom was home) and started to teach him about the nature of God and Jesus Christ. He had questions about how we were created and about what happens after we die so we helped answer his question and ended with and introduction to the Book of Mormon! At the end of the lesson we told him that as he meets with us and receives answers from God he will have a desire to be baptized and then he told us that he was almost baptized once, but he started to doubt and backed out. So we set a return appointment for Christmas Day! He gave the closing prayer and it was awesome! He asked God to help him achieve his goals and get an A or at least a good grade on his final!
Christmas Day we came over and he was home alone so we sat on the front porch together. He had read the restoration pamphlet we left and he said that he learned what the atonement was, so we taught him briefly about that. We asked if he had received an answer to his prayers. He said that he got an A in his final in his class so he thinks that he did get an answer or that it was coincidence. We told him it definitely wasn't coincidence and that God was helping because he worked hard! We then started to talk about how we receive answers from God and what forms they come it, but most importantly what it feels like! We then taught him the restoration! And invited him to be baptized in January 23rd! He said YES! We told him that he will be prepared for that day if he reads the Book of Mormon and prays every day! Also, if he comes to church every Sunday! He said he will definitely come! At the end of the lesson he prayed and asked God if he really does exist and care about him! **will you all pray that he will get him answer if he diligently seeks?
Sunday comes around and sister Goulding and I were anxiously awaiting his arrival! We were standing by the door and brother Dolan comes over and says, you know missionaries are the funniest to watch while they wait for investigators! He told us to calm down! Then not even 2 minutes later we see Paymon walking up from the parking lot! We both started happy dancing and ran to the door to open it for him! He stayed for all three house and we had brother Domine fellowship him! It was a perfect match! He even sat with brother Domine's family during sacrament meeting! Paymon also participated in gospel principles and asked questions about the law of chastity! It was awesome!

Gina: okay let's rewind 5 weeks when sister Goulding and I had just gotten into the area. We were driving in Roseland in the way to go and find a potential when sister Goulding makes a comment that we should knock the street we passed. So I made a mental note in my mind to go back there. We had a couple opportunities to but every time it fell through. Last week we finally got to the street to knock it but we were running late and didn't have much time to tract there. So we together picked five houses to knock and then we prayed about them. God told us to only knock three and the pointed us to the exact three to knock. The last one we knocked we met Gina and shared the video with her and she invited us back. Okay real time now! So this Saturday we went over to our appointment with her! She introduced us to her
family and then we went downstairs and had a lesson with her. We started to get to know her a little bit and she said that she was engaged to her boyfriend! She then started talking about how hard it is to find someone with good morals that match ours. She then said that she believes that she shouldn't have intimate relationships with her boyfriend before marriage! Then she asked what our view was and so we taught her about the law of chastity! She then had questions about how we view the family so we taught her about how the gospel in centered and focused 100% on the family and linked it to the law of chastity! We then felt promoted to read the proclamation to the family with her! She loved it soooo much and asked us about three times to have a copy of it! She then asked if we have any dietary restrictions and so we taught her about the word of wisdom and guess what she lives it already! She was so happy to learn why we believe in it and that it is to help us always be able to receive guidance from our Heavenly Father! She then said, "Everyone in my family thinks I am crazy for living this way, but you guys understand it! Sign me up I want to be a part of this!" So we then invited her to be baptized and she said YES! We set her on date for January 23rd as well and she was a bit hesitant because of her family, but we promised her that if she knows this is true and what God wants her to do he will provide a way and we promised her as representatives of Jesus Christ that her family will see her desires and support this decision! She committed to the date! We can't see her again until the 9th, but we will be meeting her in a member’s home this live close by! At the end of the lesson she gave the prayer and it was amazing! This girl is practically Mormon already! We know that God directed us right to her and we are so grateful for how much he cares about the people in the Caldwell area!

Well that is all for this week! It was also so nice to be able to talk to mi familia on Christmas! I am so grateful for my family and I miss you guys! I know that God puts us through affliction and trials, but as we are patient and diligent we will receive his guidance and help. I am grateful that God has sister Goulding and I work hard to have these past couple weeks. It has made us so much more grateful for the people we do have to teach now and how incredible they are! God loves you, and he sent Christ to be here with us. Christ knows exactly what you are going through right now and he is here to lift us up in the pain and the joy! Those two are pretty incredible!

I love each of you and am grateful for your love and support! I miss
you! HAPPY NEW YEARS 💃🏻🐱🦀🎇🎉

Dear Framily,

It's all good this week!! This week has been truly incredible! All our hard work has been paying off this week, and it is making me start to
cry just thinking about it. I know that God truly just took our area in his hands and I am so grateful that he did. I think the best way to describe this week is focusing on the people rather than the day because it's all about them ️ and away we go!

Noelia: she ordered a Bible last week and we called to set an appointment with her for Monday! She let us right in and sat us down
in her couch. We gave her the bible that she had ordered and she said, "Oh I thought I ordered a 'Mormon bible.'" Then we said, "Do you mean the Book of Mormon?" She had wanted a Book of Mormon! So we started to explain what the Book of Mormon is and why we have it, and the blessings that come from having it and knowing that it is true! She was so excited to read it and so thankful that we brought her both a bible and a Book of Mormon! We will be seeing her again next week!

Gena: she is an older woman from Bulgaria that we met a week or so ago knocking (I talked about her in past emails) she wasn't home for the appointment we set last week so we dropped by this week in Tuesday! She let us in and gave us cookies, chocolate, and orange juice. She speaks barely any English and so we had a very hard time communicating with her. We asked her how she liked the Book of Mormon we left on her door in Bulgarian and she said that she loved it! She went to her bedroom to go and get the book! She started showing us all that she had read! She had read all the introduction pages, all of 2 Nephi, and also read from 3 Nephi 11 to the end of the Book of Mormon in just one week! I think our jaws literally dropped! She said that she loves it because it has the same spirit of the bible, but it is so simple and clear! We then tried to teach her that she needs to pray to know if the Book of Mormon is true and when she does she will want to be baptized! We taught her that using pictures in the pamphlets. She kind of understood! She is so incredible! This week we will be taking a member to go and see her and he speaks a language that is similar to Bulgarian so that should help a lot! We also ordered Bulgarian pamphlets so that she can read them! It is sooo exciting!

Alexandra: we were trying a potential in Beach Street and we couldn't find the house that was marked so we just started knocking on all the doors where they house should have been. The first couple we knocked we had pleasant conversation but they didn't want to let us in or watch the Christmas video. Then both of us felt like we should knock the house on the corner (it had very homey decorations️). A woman answered the door with a 5 week old baby in her arms. She invited us in right away and we shared the Christmas video with her and her Pop Pop (husbands grandfather) after the video ended her mother and law came in through the back door with dinner and was so happy to see us in her home! We talked to them about what gifts they will give Christ
this Christmas. Alexandra said that she is going to give Christ her little boy Luca. Our hearts just melted! We asked if we could come back again and share the restored gospel with them! They said to come by whenever we want and there will always be someone home to teach! So we went back in Thursday. We walked all day long in the pouring rain and when we got there we were drenched head to toe! Alexandra opened the door and invited us in. We took all our wet gear off outside and went in. We taught her the restoration and the spirit was sooo strong!
At the end we talked about receiving answers to prayers and she started to tear up. We asked her what she would ask God right now. She said that she would ask that her family would be blessed this Christmas because her husband is going through some rough addiction recovery. We listened to her and the spirit was there. We invited her to read a chapter of the Book of Mormon and pray. She said that she would! We will see her again tomorrow and be caroling to her house tonight!

Liz: so this week we have really been praying to find those who have leadership skills to build gods kingdom and also families that we can help be eternal. On Wednesday we went to follow up with some potentials in Essex Fells that we had met a couple weeks ago. Essex Fells is this tiny little part of our area with HUGE MANSION HOUSES! Fear no man right? So we were walking in between potentials houses knocking as we went! (This street wins the award for cutest wreaths by the way) we were walking up to one house and we both felt the spirit and got really excited! A woman named Liz opened the door and let us come inside. She gave us some water and started asking all these questions about our missions! She felt like she was a member it was crazy! We showed her the Christmas video and she said opened up right away about struggles that she had faced and is facing right now! We were able to promise her as representative of Christ that as she continues to learn about our message she will find peace and receive help! She invited us back over and to meet her husband! She also gave us a referral!

Gina: back when we got transferred into this area Sister Goulding felt prompted to knock a street in Roseland that we hadn't gotten around to. We were running late on our schedule and we got to this street with about 15 minutes to work there unless we wanted to cut into the time knocking in Essex fells. So we made plan to knock 5 houses and we picked five houses to knock and then prayed to know if these were the ones God wanted us to go to. We got an answer to only knock 3 and he directed us to the three houses very specifically. So we knocked the first two and no one was home. We got to the last house and knocked. A cute younger adult woman came to the door and we asked her if we could share this video with her! She came outside with us and watched the video. We asked her about her thoughts and she said she really liked it and asked for the link to it! She then started to express her thanks to us for coming out here and doing this because so many people
need it. We asked her if we could come back and share more of our message with her! She said absolutely anytime! So we set a return appointment with her!

Steven & Aimee: after meeting Liz we jetted off to Essex Fells with no real street to go to because there no potentials other than the few we have found the past week or so! We pulled out the GPS and started praying about streets. We felt like Devon Street is where we needed to be! As I pulled to corner to the street I felt like we hit a wall of the spirit and we both had our hearts just pounding out of our chests. We parked quickly and started knocking houses. The first one the woman was on the phone so we said we would come back! The next couple weren't home or didn't open the door for us. Then we got to a HUGE house and we heard Christmas music playing throughout he whole house. We were doing a little jig in our way to the door 😉. We knocked and a
couple came to do door! We could tell it was date night and they invited us in and asked if we wanted any cocktails....we said no, but
that we would like to share a Christmas message! So they came and sat down with us! We asked to turn off the music and then we showed the video to them! We could tell the Aimee was feeling the spirit. After the video we asked them about their feelings toward Christ and then we testified if of happiness that comes through the restore gospel! We let them get back to their date night at home and closed with a prayer!

Those were this week’s finds and miracles! I am so grateful for Christmas and that the whole world no matter what religion people are take time to think about the savior and recognize all the wonderful things that he has done so that everyone has an opportunity to return to God and receive all the blessings that he has in store for us. This Christmas think about the things that you will give Christ for his birthday! Reflect on what he has provided for you specifically and what you can change to draw closer to him! This has been the greatest week because we have been able to see Christ working in the people in our area! Share the good news and share the love of Christ!

Dear Framily!!
A lot happened this week, but I am not in a huge mood to sit here and type away my mission....soooooooooooo I will just share two things 😉
The day everyone has been waiting for! Ashley and Colette went to the temple this Saturday to be endowed! It was the best day of my whole
life! You know I thought watching someone be baptized was the greatest thing, but seeing two people you love in the temple all dressed in white...there aren't words to describe! So many people came to support them and it was so amazing to be able to see each of them in the temple! Before the session started I saw Ashley in the hall and we hugged for about two minutes straight!! She looked so beautiful and I was fighting back tears. When we were all sitting in the creation room Ashley and Colette were one of the last ones in room. As I saw her walk in and see everyone there to support her there was no more fighting back the tears. The spirit was so strong and she was so excited! I learned so much this time going through the temple! I learned a lot about my personal relationship with the savior and the impact that he does and can have in my life as I keep my covenants. When Ashley was taking the steps to go into the celestial room I had waterfalls running down my face! It made me realize the importance of eternal friendships and when I finally got to be with her and all the people I love from Maplewood in the celestial room I could be happier.
Mom and dad, I think I know how you felt went I went through for the first time. I am so grateful for the opportunity to return back to my God with all the people I love, my brothers and sisters!

Alrighty miracle of the week! Before church started we were standing by the front doors talking to brother Klobek he said that there was a girl that came to the family history center on Saturday and she is going to come to church today! So we all waited for her to come anxiously! ......she came!! Her name is Pamela and she is here being a Nanny and she is from Brazil! She met a member on her plane ride over here and they became best friends! She went to church with her friend once and she said that she felt so happy and good and she wanted to come to church here! Sooooo she stayed for all three hours and now Sara and Sarah who are in their twenties as well totally befriended her and she wanted to learn more and know that this is all true! We are teaching her on Thursday! I am grateful that God is in the details of the lives of the people around us. I know that if we strive to be obedient God is able to bring miracles!
I love you all and am grateful for your love and support!

The Babe the Son of Mary

Cuban Food!

Ellis Island

December 7, 2015
Dear Family,

HAPPY MONDAY! Also happy birthday shout out to CORY! It was fun to get emails from everyone!
Last Monday night we went to have dinner with Brother Zamora! He took us to this really cool Cuban restaurant! It was really fun and I had my first steak in 15 months!! It was soooo yummy! After dinner he took us to go get hot chocolate and we went to this really cute diner and they made homemade marshmallows. I didn't even realize you could do that! It was the BEST hot chocolate of my whole life! That night we talked to him about a time that he has changed the most for the good. He said that after being an atheist for a while he had thought about what kind of morals he wanted to have and what would be his motivation in life. He said that he decided that night that he was going to be a "kind" person. He said that from that day on he tried everywhere he went to just make people smile or serve in some way. It was really cool to hear about that.
Tuesday the WHOLE MISSION was together for zone meetings so we could practice for the Christmas fireside! It was so fun to see all my sister and elder friends! I was soooo happy! During zone conference I
had a really cool thing happen. During one of the trainings an Elder who I have served around a lot was commenting and said the "R" word pretty harshly. My companion looked right at me and I tried to not
react at all even on my face or my thoughts. At the end of the meeting the elder came up to me and he apologized. I was so touched by this because he was humble enough to recognize and come up to me. He asked about Sydney and I showed him some pictures and told the latest Syd stories. I am very grateful for that experience.
That night we had planned to street contact in Caldwell but things just weren't feeling right. We prayed about 8 times to be directed and we ended up at a Dunkin donuts. As we were about to go in we felt good until the second we stepped closer and it didn't feel right again. I was getting so confused. So we got in our car and as we were pulling out we saw a man at the bus stop that had just walked out of Dunkin. We both said that we needed to talk to him so we parked the car and literally ran because we saw the bus coming. We caught him as he was walking into the bus and handed him a card and said about 5 words. As this was happening I saw a man that wasn’t getting on the bus and I went over and started to talk to him. He was Muslim and said that he is taking a class about Christianity in school right now. I asked him if he would ever become Christian and he said YES! He didn't live in our area, but we were able to pass his information on! We found who we needed to talk to!

Wednesday my zone went to the temple and I couldn’t go because I am going with Ashley this Saturday! I am so excited to go with her! I spent the day in Emerson with some awesome sisters! We set up a tree for a woman who is actual the mother of some of my favorite members in Short Hills! It was so fun!

Friday we had Sarah team up with us for the day! We were so happy to have her! It was a blast! We went and tried a potential that we had found a couple weeks ago and the daughter pulled up as we were at the door. We started talking to her and turns out she LOVES Katy Perry so I talked about Katy Perry and we were totally able to connect! She said that she would have her mom call! And her mom did call! We weren't able to answer in time so when we got the voice mail I was literally flipping out with excitement! That night we went and helped set up for the Christmas party! I was with Sister Shupe working in the silverware. I was able to get to know her a lot and she is so sweet!

Saturday we spend the morning at Ellis Island! I love being there and helping people! It was a day full of enriching finds! It is so fun to see people get excited when they find their families and even more
excited when you get to help! I helped this one person find 4 different documents on the man’s father! They had found one and as I was helping them I noticed that he was marked as a citizen so I told them that he was probably traveling back and forth! We were able to track him back to the first voyage over with his whole family!  It was really touching to see his emotions about his father! Family is where it is
That night at the Christmas party I found out that I know Brother and Sister Shupe’s family! As I was talking to sister Shupe about sign language we got talking about Down syndrome and she made a side
comment about some of her family in Utah, and so I asked her who it was and it was Jill Puffer and Shaylee! I was so excited! It's a small world

Sunday we were asked to sing a special musical number with two of the young women. It was my first time EVER doing a number in church like that! I was so terrified, but it ended up going extremely well! They spirit was so strong after! The testimony meeting was a bit interesting. After church Sarah came with us again and there was a street back on Thursday night that I felt really prompted to go knock while I was saying my nightly prayers. So we went and the spirit was guiding us very strongly. The first couple doors we had little success. Then we knock on another door and the older woman that came to the door opened it right up! She was from Bulgaria and spoke barely any English. We used google translate to help her understand that we weren't asking for money but wanting to teach her about Christ. We showed her the Christmas video and she was tearing up. We used google translate to tell her that Christ died as a gift to her. We set a return appointment for this Thursday! It will be interesting to see how the
teaching will go! Sarah was so excited after and it reminded me of when I was a new missionary it was so refreshing and rejuvenating!
We then headed to the Vandergasts! We are helping them start to do family scripture studies together! We read 3 Nephi 11 with them and we talked a lot about how we hear the word of God and what it will be like when Christ comes again! Sister Vandgergast was really able to feel the spirit! We hope that her husband will join us next time, but he did come to church!! He came because Zoe his daughter sang with us! It was awesome!
We had dinner at the Dolan's home. We made a list with them of people they love that aren't members of the church, and we prayed together to know who on their list they could reach out to. After the prayer we had a minute of silence to let the spirit guide. Everyone received an answer right there. It was soooo beautiful!

Well on that note I will end the email! I want each of you to know that I love being a missionary. Some days it is really hard and I am really exhausted each day, but I have never been so happy. I am grateful for the joy that the gospel brings to our lives. There is nothing so special than being able to feel God’s love for the people around you. I love change. I love that God has provided a way that through Christ we can become all that we are meant to be. Trust in him and he will lead you!

Love you mostest,
Sister Cooper the Jersey Girl
