Blast me to Burmuda!

 Sister Egan and Sister Cooper!

February 23, 2015
Dear Framily,
I hope you all have had a good week! It was good to hear from you!
This week has been a roller coaster. The ups were really up and the lows were really low, but we saw some beautiful miracles and for that I am thankful!
Wednesday I woke up feeling like I was on the verge of getting sick and by the end of the day I was definitely sick! That night we went over the Sister Santamaria's house to help her with some visiting teaching planning. We are really working on getting visiting teaching going in New Jersey, and it will be a huge blessing when it gets up and running!
Thursday we had what felt like a forever long planning session! ha-ha it was great! That night we had a dinner appointment with Sister Thomas and it was walking day! So we walked in the 7 degree weather with a lovely wind chill! We were pretty frozen. If you took your gloves off our hands would just have instant pain because it was so cold. We ended up stopping at Starbucks to warm up. Then Sister Egan made eye contact with this man and she said she knew him from somewhere. He ended up coming over to talk to us, and the first thing he said was, "Do I know you?" so they both though each other looked familiar! We ended up having a great conversation with him! It was a really cool experience!
We started walking again and we thought we had got to Sister Thomas's house and the door had a pass along card in the window so we totally thought it was her house. We knocked on the door and this woman was yelling to see who it was. She sent her son to look through the window....anyway....we had the WRONG house. It was so weird. Turns out we were really lost. We called Sister Thomas and she came and picked us up and took us to her home. The meal was super awesome too! I felt like I was at a gourmet restaurant! She was such a good cook! After the dinner we talked about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and she told us that she is going to be going to the temple soon which is HUGE!! We were so excited! We then both testified of our experiences at the temple! Sister Thomas wouldn't let us back out into the cold so she drove us home after. It was a good thing too because I was still pretty sick.
Friday we woke up to frozen pipes again. We didn't want to call the Land Lord again so we tried to thaw it out ourselves...ha-ha! That night we went and played sports with the ward and it was a hit! We had a lot of nonmembers there! And my goodness we were laughing the whole time because everyone was playing volleyball so hilariously!
Saturday afternoon it started snowing really really hard! By the time is was night we had gotten quite a bit of snow. We had a lot of contacting planned that night, but no one was out on the streets they were all in their homes...so....we started trying to find people at home. We went to a former investigators house, Linda Victor, and rang her buzzer. She let us in and man was she a diamond! She said that she had missed having the Sister missionaries over a lot! And we had a really spiritual time getting to know her and her background. She studies religion and knows a little bit of everything. She had a lot of questions about the sacrament so we talked with her about that and read the sacrament prayers with her. When we were about to get ready to leave she said that she had let a lot of Christians through her door and then she said that she never really sees them with a light like the one we had. She is really in tune with the spirit. We decided to wait to pick her up as an official investigator until after we had a real lesson. When we got home that night we went over her old teaching record. And she was really close to being baptized and then her someone in her family went to the hospital and she got really busy and they couldn't see her anymore. It was a huge blessing that we found her and we are really excited to bring her home! Oh and we finally called the land lord because we decided we needed running water!
Sunday they canceled church due to weather...yes...bummer...
The elders and us later went and gave the sacrament to our usual people and when we were at Sister Suarez place she was making us crack up so bad. She was on a roll telling us funny thing after another!
That night we had a lesson with Sherri and Baron a couple that Sister Robinson and I contacted. When we got to their door we could hear kids playing inside and sister Egan and I looked at each other with the widest eyes! IT'S A FAMILY! We had no clue that they had children! We went in and when we were doing how to begin teaching and said, "When you come to accept our message you will want to make changes in your life to bring it into closer harmony with Christs teachings, you will want to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and be baptized." Then Sherri said that they had been talking a lot about baptism and that she really wants to be baptized!....wait what just happened...is this real life? GOLDEN! We went on with the lesson of the restoration, and the kids were being a bit crazy, but the message got across and the spirit was really there. They both committed to be baptized! And we got 2 new investigators with a total 3 (Lindsay being the other) new this week! Next week we hope to get even more too! The Lord has really been helping us and leading us to the prepared!
I love you all the mostest and I hope you all have another amazing week.
XOXO,
Sister Cooper the Jersey Girl
PS. I am feeling a lot better now
